Dan is a great innovative shaper here on the Gold Coast and has been experimenting with his Simmons for a while now. After starting out last year building SUP with bamboo skins and then his short board range , he has now done the Simmons. They are stringerless styrene and look unreal.
Dan Mac Donald was frantically shaping these Mini Simmons last week before jumping the plane to Bali and Europe for the rest of the month.Dan makes a great board and he has taught Tuka well in the skills of tints and glassing as shown here.
Dan Mac Donald from DMS here on the Gold Coast shaped a nice little Simmons for Dane to pick up when he was here for the Quiksilver Pro. Turns out it is like 12 inches too big for the boy. Word has it that Dane was seen surfing something way smaller than that ( in the 3ft range ) down at Broken Head last week and just tearing it up. How small is small ?
