This one being built at present is to our old 'Spitfire' singlefin design from 1995.Construction is 4 layers of 3mm paulownia glassed with dark blue woven and felted NewZealand wool and epoxy, several fairing coats have been applied and sanded in between coats. At one coat a day it's long process

Here's the planshape for some single foiled volan glass spitfire quad fins which will be arriving next month . Some will be used in quad fin setups, other as tunnel fin plus two sidebite setups ( very similar to the quad with the addition of more tail lift and less drag)

This is an early epoxy/glass/graphite spitfire fin from 1995, mounted on a flexible 1.5" thick 18" wide balsa parallel profile board, a slick little tuberider now somewhere in Brazil, shown here with Rich in Japan.
