Vans by Thalia Surf
Vans and Thalia have collaborated on a new space to expand Thalia Surf Shop. (In the old Surf Gallery location, next door)
It's insane, you have to drop by and check it out.
Here's a little clip from their opening party.

Kyle Lightner for VANS
Kyle Lightner for Vans t-shirt available at Thalia.
These 2 photos are shots Kyle took of Dave and Griffin back when we first started hanging out and working together. The top one is me holding the 'cordless' board pre-glass job. The second one is Griffin crouching down inspecting a 1964 Hobie board that we were talking about, as inspiration for some of the first longboards we did together.
It was complete coincidence that Vans happened to put photos of Griffin and I on the same shirt.
Even more of a longshot that they would use those photos for a KL X VANS Billboard in NYC and SF. (pictured below) Stoked for you Kyle.

Plenty to do this Weekend...
There are plenty of exciting things happening this weekend...
First, Almond Shop 1-year anniversary on Friday at 6:00.
Second, Captain Helm Pancake Breakfast on Saturday Morning.
Lastly, Saturday night requires a little driving, but is well worth it. Dano and Ray Barbee will each be performing at an art show at Shelter in Long Beach. And Thalia St. is putting on an event commemorating 10 years of working/collaborating with Ando. The Thalia event will feature DJ Manny Caro from Mandala Surfboards. (never knew he was a dj...)
Hope to see you all this weekend, all weekend.

9'7 Surf Thump at Thalia

One of the slickest boards we've done to date is currently in the racks down at Thalia St. Surf Shop in Laguna. If you get a chance, go check it out.

9'7 Surf Thump at Thalia
Possibly my favorite board we've done, a 9'7 Surf Thump, is now in the racks down at Thalia St. Surf Shop in Laguna.
Perfectly pinched rails. Super-Almond Shaped Nose Concave. Glass on Mahogany Huck Finn by the Gull. Green Houndstooth Fabric Inlay Deck Patch. Mmmmm.....
Snag it before I steal it back.
